Last year my dear friend and fellow photographer Kandice and I decided to start a year long photo project called the Foto Fifty. Each week we had posted an image representing the particular theme of that week. After the first week we had four additional photographers join the group. Although myself and a few others ultimately didn't complete the full year project, the Foto Fifty group became what I consider a huge success. It essentially became a networking/support system for the six of us. We spent the year feeding ideas off of one another, encouraging each others work and even allowed opportunities for constructive feedback. We all live in different parts of the country, one member I still haven't met face to face, but I feel a special connection to the five of them. In a highly saturated and competitive industry like photography it has been invaluable to have a group of ladies that rather than playing the comparison game we choose to encourage each other to refine our skills and become better at what we do. So this year we decided to begin a new project called The Day In The Life. It is what it sounds like. We will be documenting an entire day each month of the year. So here is my first attempt. And leave it to me to put it off until the last day of the month. This particular day documented is what I would consider a relatively typical day for me and the kiddos with a few exceptions of course. However it ended with a date night with the husband and a Penny and Sparrow Concert. If you haven't heard of them I highly recommend you make yourself acquainted with their music. It's beautiful.
