Winters in Central Washington are brutal. For those of you who live in these parts this goes without saying. For others, the best adjectives for describing an Ellensburg winter are cold, very cold, dark, wet, snowy, and windy. And did I mention dark? Very dark. So my thoughtful and creative friend Kristy decided to have a spring party to celebrate the end of another long winter and the beginning of sunshine and warm weather. She planned awesome activities for the kids. "I thought the kids could plant their own seeds, make a springtime craft, read a springtime story, and if they all start freaking out at some point, we can watch a show about springtime," she explained. Doesn't get much better than that, I thought. So here you have it, our springtime celebration!
